The Graphic Artist Guild is taking a neutral position on this for the time being until the language is finalized, but the Illustrators Partnership of America is taking action.

You want to write Congress? Now's the time...

Hey guys.

After the whole alarmist blowup of the Orphan Works bill of 2006, I've been keeping my ear to the ground about the real bill: Shawn Bentley's Orphan Works Bill of 2008.

A lot of folks have been prepped and ready to contact Congress but I got the GO GO GO email this morning.

Please, for the love of all that is holy and good, DO NOT post alarmist statements about the Bill. It is not helping the cause.

First off, what does the Bill look like? Maradydd over at Livejournal is posting a play by play of the Bill. While it does a lot of good, I do feel there may be the potential for loopholes. Please read it carefully, and draw your own conclusions:
