A companion piece to Totoro Tower that I made to have something new at Tokyo in Tulsa.

I thought Catbus would be a lot harder to draw than he was! I still have a few other Totoro ideas, but I'm going to put those on a back burner while I tend to other things like actual paying work... it's been nice taking a nice little nostalgia trip through my childhood, though.

OMG CATBUS!!!!!

I wish you could like, uber favorite some things because I would totally do that with this image!

The lighting is absolutely fabulous, as is the fur texture, and the whiskers. I love it aaaaaall! :glomp:

You did a great job on the glow of his eyes without being overly ... "Glowy?" I suppose "subtle" is the word I'm looking for, but it doesn't sound appropriate for some reason.

Whatever. I like it. And I'll probably end up tossing Totoro in the DVD player tonight and watching it with my two year old niece on account.

I bet Catbus was a ninja at one time. Seriously. Think about how he can balance that giant body on tiny things like phone lines.

This is wonderful! The Catbus is my favorite from Totoro. I got to see a scale model at a Jump to Japan exhibit, it was so much fun getting to sit inside. I love how you get the big toothy grins spot on.

I want to go to Tokyo in Tulsa so bad! My family lives 10 minutes from Tulsa & I've gone to visit them during that time in July for the last 3 years. Only this year I decided to go in October when the weather is much cooler...those Oklahoma summers are awful!

i love catbus! :heart: i love everything from 'studio ghibli' and 'tonari no totoro' is one of my favorites!

i guess it's 'my neighbor totoro' in english, i have them all except 'howl's moving castle' and most of them are japanese imports. *shrugs*

i think you're going to put me on a 'ghibli' kick-- i sense a marathon coming on!
