There's always more

The MONSTER two page spread thesis piece is finished! Hooray! Cinderella dancing with the Prince at the ball, being watched by the wicked stepmother and stepsisters, all of whom are wondering who the hell that girl is.
And again, since I know some of you will try to call a foul on me: the stepsisters aren't necessarily ugly and they're not always portrayed that way. Just because Disney made them ugly doesn't mean they always are. Think ice bitch and the one who goes with the flow so she doesn't get trampled by the ice bitch and the mother. And on a side note: This is the first piece I've ever done that topped 1.8 GB in size before I flattened the layers. Standard recap: My thesis is going to be a series of illustrations (single pages, spots and two page spreads) depicting my own version of Cinderella. The whole idea is an expansion of the "Cinderella My Way" [link] piece I did in class junior year. Just like last year, I'm using my character designs from the Broadway universe because 1) the story of Cinderella is special to them in the first place and 2) I knew using characters I care about would keep me interested in this project for an entire semester. Other thesis pieces thus far: By the Fire: [link] Asking to Dance:[link] Happily Ever After: [link] Four down, TWO to go! |

I think it's clear to see which sister is the ice bitch.
All of your thesis pictures are gorgeous and I love Cinderella's dress.

ANYWAYS, I love your treatment of the stepsisters! Many of the traditional stories say things like "they were as beautiful as the day, but their hearts were as black as night," and way to kick D*sney in the shins!
