After Cinderella is not allowed to attend the ball, she goes out to the garden and cries at the fountain. When she hears a sound she looks up, and the Godmother is there, perched on top of the still foutain looking down at her, fading off into nothing. I wanted to go with the more attractive looking Godmother concept rather than the frumpy old woman a la Disney.
Standard recap: My thesis is a series of illustrations depicting my own version of Cinderella. The whole idea is an expansion of the "Cinderella My Way" [link] piece I did in class junior year. Just like last year, I'm using my character designs from the Broadway universe because 1) the story of Cinderella is special to them in the first place and 2) I knew using characters I care about would keep me interested in this project for an entire semester.
oh, wow. i love the idea of her fading into the water. that was really the first thing that caught my attention, that she was more solidwhere the water would be the spouting out forcefully and then just sort of drifting off.
Beautiful job, I love how she looks like she's part of the fountain. Very nice touch! And the fading effect is very nice as well.
And I agree, the idea of a beautiful godmother is much better than the Disney version ;D
Oh, btw, I think I accidently pressed the "Request Print" button when I full-sized the pic... sorry about that!

Beautiful, I adore how her dress flows with the fountain. Also, very nice approach to her design, it's interesting to see an attractive godmother haha.
Very beautiful. Is there a specific reason that she's entirely blue? (I have a couple guesses, but I'd like to know the actual artist's reason in case I'm way off track )
Wow! I gotta say that I wasn't expecting this when I saw the title for "Godmother". I like your design much more than Disney's!
