I Need You Like I Need Air

Two deviations in two days, WTF is going on?!

This was actually my gift to my dear mommy for Mother's Day. Five-year-olds draw pictures for their mothers on Mother's Day but as she said, "This is substantially different than a drawing by a five-year-old." She loves my InuKag artwork (she's just as hardcore about Inuyasha as I am) and she also loves KnittingKnots' fanfics, so this was the perfect combo. Needless to say she loved it and periodically picked it up to stare at it several times throughout the day with a rather content smile on her face. Mission accomplished.

This is an illustration for KnittingKnots' A Tale of Ever After [link] (which you should definitely read if you like InuKag and want to see what day-to-day life was like in Feudal Japan with ridiculous levels of historical accuracy). This scene is from chapter four, the first night after Kagome came back through the well. In this image she's just agreed to marry him (which in that time was basically moving in together), and he says what is my favorite line in the entire fic:

"The things you do to me, woman. I need you," he said, raising himself up on one elbow. "I need you like I need air. I need to feel your skin next to mine and taste you everywhere. I want to drown myself in your smell and wrap myself around you. Is that wrong?"

Love love love that line. Wonderful InuKag fic plus wonderful line of dialogue plus emotive moment equals le crayon bleu drawing. The first one I've managed to take to completion in several months, might I add. Thank you, Wellbutrin.
