This is the first kiss between Himes and Kag from Broadway Baby that took place under the alcove the Monday after homecoming when Kag demanded her goodnight kiss. To quote the (fictionalized) text:
"Does it matter why?" He smiled sadly. "It's just the way things are. You're someone who hasn't seen how bad things can get. I have." Fearing he had said too much, "You better get back before they figure out you came after me."
Katherine nodded. Lifting her head she said, "There is one thing."
"Yes?"
"I want my goodnight kiss. You left before giving it to me. I want it, and then we can call things finished," she whispered, blinking back her tears.
She watched as he nodded, then leaned forward. His lips touched her cheek gently. Then he pulled away.
"You call that a goodnight kiss? My mother does that. I want a real goodnight kiss, from my date." Anger replacing the tears that she had recently been fighting as she met his eyes. "You owe me that much, at least." She was terrified that he would walk away, denying her.
Tristan met her gaze and nodded. His hands came up to gently rest on her shoulders. Tilting his head slightly, he bent again. This time, his lips touched hers gently, warm and soft as they moved over hers. With the barest of touches, his tongue traced her lips. Shyly, she opened to him slightly. He deepened the kiss, his hands leaving her shoulders to cup her face, as hers moved to his waist. Too soon, he pulled back, wiping her lips with his thumbs as if to seal the kiss forever on her lips. He studied her face as if to memorize it then bent and kissed her again, just the barest touch of his lips to hers.
"Wait a few minutes before you leave," he whispered before stepping out of the alcove.
I'm very happy with the way the lighting turned out in this.
Ah. SO it's Katherin and Tristin now, hey. I like that name, Tristin.
I never quite understood what an alcove was, I've never heard that term before. Do you mind explaining that to a dumb-bum like me?
On other notes. I really like the lighting as well, and it's such a cute picture.
I like thier uniforms as well.

Yes, their "published" names are Tristan Himes and Katherine Henderson. An alcove is the area under the stairs that's usually used for storage and the like. In Tristan's alcove, the entrance out into the halls of the school is covered by paper banners for this or that; the beam of light you see is coming from between two of those banners.

As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
