Alright, here's the finished color of the sketch that I posted earlier: [link]

And so I don't re-type the explanation behind what's going on here, I'll copy and paste because I'm lazy:

This was inspired by the rather dramatic events that are going on in the Inuyasha manga right now. Those of you who keep up with the weekly scanlations know what this is.

For those of you who don't read the current manga chapters, the gang are finally in the final battle which is taking place within Naraku's body after he's apparently used the completed Shikon no Tama. After separating Inuyasha and Kagome from Miroku and Sango, Naraku draws Inuyasha and Kagome too close to the Shikon, making it's corruption turn Inuyasha full youkai. He starts going after Kagome and she can't stop him, although he's fighting as hard as he can inside to get her away from him. Not before he takes a chunk out of her arm, though.

There's probably between 30-60 hours of work put into this; I can't be sure since I didn't keep a definite count. For anyone who is interested, though, I've done a little three part "This is sorta kinda how I do it" over at my LJ. Keep in mind it isn't in any way detailed... it's just more like narrated progress screen shots.

To all the people's art I have faved. I know I don't usually comment how awesome your art is or something. But I'd like to tell you now that If I've faved your art that means it was beyond awesome!

Hey I just checked out your process! It really made me feel better about the way I do things. I too trace over my drawings, I always thought that was sort of cheating but I guess not! I was wondering, when will you post your Adobe Illustrator process? I am trying to learn how to use that program but it's really hard! The coloring process is different from photoshop. The flood fill doesn't work the way I would like it to. I'm taking an Adobe Illustrator class next semester so maybe I'll learn something. Please post your Illustrator process as soon as possible! The fate of the world depends on it! j/k. :) Still, it would be really helpful to see!

:iconkriscynical:
Of course tracing your own drawing wouldn't be cheating! You drew it in the first place. :)

I don't know if I'll ever do a formal Illustrator tutorial, although it's not completely out of the question. I learned how to use Illustrator in a digital illustration class I took in college and it can be quite tricky. I did a brief demo of it at A-kon last year in a panel I did about advanced digital colorization, so at least I have the basic steps worked out...

If you're taking a class about the program next semester, you should be good.
