Can't Take It In -- Colored by KrisCynical Can't Take It In -- Colored by KrisCynical
:icondonotuseplz::iconmyartplz:

I colored this last year around this time to put in a personal calendar and then I forgot to post it! It has my 2010 watermark on it, but it really should have 2009. Oh well.

The colored version of the blue pencil sketch "Can't Take It In":

Original description/concept behind the piece copypasta'd:

This image is entirely fueled by a prompt from my mom and the song "Can't Take It In" from the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe soundtrack. I think it's the perfect song for Kagome in particular at the very last panel of the manga. Look at the lyrics and see how much I'm right: [link] XD

I know the Japanese are real no-no about PDA, so that's where this visual comes from. It's pretty much an "every day life" sort of doodle set after the manga of them walking through the village or wherever. Their pinkys are linked, but their hands would be hidden from the front because of their sleeves. I don't care how accurate it is, it was a cute mental image that kept bugging me until I got it down on paper because it's squishy.

Words can not describe the sheer amount of talent that went into this deviation of yours. But if I had to attempt to put what I feel into that of words...those words would be: " The very essence of Kagome and Inuyasha captured perfectly in a timeless still frame".  Thus you have created and captured a truly magnificent and priceless piece of Otaku artwork.

I love how you have your own distinctive style that is truly Kris! It's simply amazing. It's unlike anything I've ever seen before and that's why I like it.

Japan is a very "no touchy" society. Physical contact in public is frowned upon, especially affection between romantic couples. All of that, even hand holding, is to be done in private. For them to hold hands while walking through the village would be a "no-no", so I drew the pinkies linked with the sleeves hiding the contact from the front.

On my front page, click the little person in the top right corner that says something about "watch". Then whenever I upload something new you'll get it in your DA inbox.

[link] If you look on the right side of the image there's a space called "link" that has an address that starts with "http : // fav . me"... that's how you link to the piece. Within DA us can use the "Thumb" code in the : marks and it will put a little version of the piece in its place that links to the full size image.

This is so completely adorable, thank you so very much for such a beautiful piece of them both...I perfer this pairing a whole lot more over SeshKag even though it seems to be pretty popular nowadays. Lovely concept, especially the simple and sweet idea of them being connected by their pinkies even with their sleeves hiding the fact that they are holding hands. I also love how it is a snap shot of an everyday activity, mozing through the village, carrying a basket of herbs and walking and talking together. The best thing, besides how wonderful and amazing drawn this is, is their expressions...how she is so happy to be with him and how he is looking at her with that look. Thank you and this is beautiful!

I can't believe you colored it.

You better color ALL of your inukag sketches now (even the scraps!) .

I love this one even more in colour. It's both striking and subtle, if that makes any sense. ^^; Those little everyday moments of closeness and affection are one of my favourite things about Inuyasha and Kagome's relationship. You've done a great job of capturing that here. :+fav:

It's just a Japanese culture thing. They're a very "no touch" society, so PDA is rude/scandalous. It's also why they bow to show respect rather than handshake. The longer and lower the bow, the more respect they're conveying to the person they're bowing to.

Yeah I've heard about that... the bowing thing.

I didn't know about the PDA thing. Though it's their culture... though it wouldn't make much of a difference to me, either way I'm self-concious in public anyway xDD; *afraid to look like an idiot*
