This image is entirely fueled by a prompt from my mom and the song "Can't Take It In" from the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe soundtrack. I think it's the perfect song for Kagome in particular at the very last panel of the manga. Look at the lyrics and see how much I'm right: [link] XD
I know the Japanese are real no-no about PDA, so that's where this visual comes from. It's pretty much an "every day life" sort of doodle set after the manga of them walking through the village or wherever. Their pinkys are linked, but their hands would be hidden from the front because of their sleeves. I don't care how accurate it is, it was a cute mental image that kept bugging me until I got it down on paper because it's squishy.
See....although the Japanese have a thing for PDA *now*....what about *then*? Not sure we know enough about every-day life in the feudal era to know for sure....**shrugs and grins** Would be a bit interesting to find out just *when* some of the modern Japanese cultural norms started. [and for me to say that, with no real liking for history...LOL]
That's the roughest part about doing *anything* Inuyasha in a way, because no matter how hard we try our modern outlook is going to sneak in on things, whether it's accurate or not. O_o
All that aside, this is *such* a cute picture! And in a way I can see Inuyasha--while maybe not being all touchy-feely *himself*--ENJOYING just everyday, casual touching. Because of his own past, and because it's a non-verbal way to say "oh, you aren't a freak". Or somesuch.
Such a sweet pic, all told, sorry for the over-analyzing. Dunno what got into me. heh
