This came from out of the blue and completely randomly tonight for reasons unknown. I haven't touched the Himes routine "All That Jazz" for more than a year, or any Broadway Baby based art, period, but here it is. I tried a slightly different pencil technique than I usually do, too. I'm not quite sure what he's doing in the pose, but it's Fosse-esque from the hands. In my mind that's a slight pause in the music where his weight is carrying him forward and he falls into another combination. Or something.

Wow that's a really good picture. I love the hands! And the hat...I want a hat like that...

Or at least, that's what the system wants you to believe
:+favlove:

So cool and suave... XD

What kind of classes have you taken/are taking? Right now I'm really interested in becoming a comic book writer or do something strongly with art, but I have no real idea how to get started. I draw and think about how to improve constantly, but classes I look for are either too far away, too expensive, I'm too young for, or a combination of two/three.

^^;

I know, I know. What am I telling YOU for? Well, at least I got it off my chest :P And now I can continue saving up to look up classes to really improve... ^^

:abduction:

Maybe an art scout (O.o ?) will come and whisk me away to a class eh? :airborne:

I certinaly like this new pencil techinique! Has that issue been resolved with you roomate about the cat yet?

Depending on how you react to cats it might be a good idea to get the cat **ducks** see my mum used ot behighly allegic to cats one could burush past her and she woudl near on have an asthma attack, her doctor however suggested that she get a cat, now 17 years later, m e and my mum own two cats and my mum can have cuddles with them now and again, however she still has to wash her hands and keep them from her face. Of course saying that you may not wnat to put up with constant sneezing etc whilst studying, so there said my piece. I'm looking forward to seeing some more of himes etc. :D Good luck with everything

Don\'t try and be a brilliant artist, Just try and suck a little less each day.
There are a few problems with this:

My education depends on my ability to see. My eyes water and swell so badly around cats that I can't see clearly.

I can't conentrate when I can't breathe, and cat dander makes my airways swell if I'm around it too long.

I'm not interested in overcoming my allergies, which I don't really think is all that possible; I'm interested in living comfortably in the apartment that I'm paying rent to live in just as the roommate is. So there's no way in hell I want to be around a cat, thanks. I'm not really fond of the animals anyway since my sister got attacked by one a few years ago. I saw the damage; it wasn't pretty. I wouldn't wish harm on a cat; I just don't want to be around one.

I'm going to be starting my Junior year at Ringling in another two weeks or so. So far I've taken four semesters of Figure Drawing, One of Drawing Concepts and Drawing Fundamentals, two of Illustration, two of Painting, and one of Illustration Media. The classes I most recommend are a basic observational drawing course (still life still life still life) and Figure Drawing.

Look into the basic college level drawing classes. It's what I did my senior year of high school. (How old are you, btw? That effects things.) It seems that most decent art classes are indeed quite expensive. As for the too far away factor... yeah. I have to travel 1200 miles away from home to go to Ringling. X(

I don't think there's such thing as art scouts for classes. Jobs, maybe, if recruiters come to your school, but not for classes. lol

Oh I certainly understand that, it was only a thought :) I only hope things can be resolved between your room mate and youself becuase you certainly have a good part it is not as though you can get around it easily, and obvisouly with carpal tunnel it's not like your having a n easy time , also cats have tendacy to like art equipemnt too, goodness knows how mnay brushes i have lost to playful cats, and how many time si have had to shoo my cats form sleeping on my art pads.

I believe the guy does this in Moulin Rogue if you wanted to check that out. Very nifty pose however. =] Looks great.
:P Well, right now I just turned 15 but I want to get as much a head start as possible. From the way things are going right now even, I'll prolly graduate high school junior year or even in Jan. of Senior year. Once that happens, I'll start to work part time to save up money while I take basic classes at a community college, then transfer over to a another college/university after all the basics are covered. ;-; But drawing...I wanna draw...
